View Full Version : Windows XP - 2000 Server Problem

I have a full fleged 2000 network running Win2k Server and
all clients are XP. The initial network setup was fine
and everything was working flawlessly until recently.

One machine started to have trouble printing. Upon
looking at the printers, all of them were "unable to
connect". So, I checked to see if the network was still
intact. When browsing to the primary domain controller, I
get an error message that says something like "server is
not able to process transactions". I checked local
permissions, reset computer accounts and checked
services. Nothing worked. The only thing that resolves
this issue (for a while anyway) is to remove the computer
from the domain and bring it back in. This fixes the
problem. However, when the problem exists, it will
eventually not let me or a local user log on through that
machine to the domain. It will deny all accounts. I have
to log on to the local machine and remove/add it to the
domain again. All this time, mapped drives work fine for
some reason.

After the computer is removed/added back to the domain,
printer shares on the domain/server, are lost. I must
reshare them.

What is going on? This problem is now moving to another
machine. I can not have this going on in a working
environment. If anyone can help, please LET ME KNOW!

I have tried everything.

Thanks,
Kris

"...not available. The server is not configured for transactions"

Use "net share" command on the shared computer to check share status. If
there is not a share named "IPC$" in the share list, use "net share ipc$"
command to create it.
