Since upgrading from ME to XPPro, I have had big problems
writing to CDs. After spending 2 1/2 hours with Microsoft
tech support yesterday, I thought I might be home free.
Today trying to download a file from the internet onto a
cd-RW, I get a warning message that "I do not have
permission to perform this function and to obtain it from
the administrator". What happened? What to do?
Thanks, anybody out there.

XP's rudimentary CD Recording program does not permit
saving a file directly to a CD drive. Instead, save your=20
file to your hard drive, then record it to a CD.

Open XP's "Help and Support" and type: CD RECORDING , and hit enter.
The click on the topic titled: "Copy Files and Folders to a CD".
