Can I use Windows XP Pro on a Pentium II?

I have a Pentium II running at 400 megahertz with 13.56G
Hard Drive and 256 MB Installed Memory. Is this computer
powerful enough or has enough space, etc., to install and
run Windows XP Professional?

It will be functional, but marginally pleasing to use. You are going to
perform a clean format/install to get rid of everything that is on the
computer now - right? Best way to go with what is, obviously, an old machine
that may have been upgraded/repaired previously!

It will run it, but at a craw. Your plus is your ram. If you don't mind a
few days of setting up and reinstalling, give it a try. You may be alright
with the speed.

Yes - your PC meets and exceeds (just) the minimum specifications for
running Windows XP Professional.
