I upgraded to xp from windows me and I found that my
norton's anti=virus program disappeared. Do I download a
anti-virus for the specific xp? Can I find a free
download on the internet or do I spend more money on
another software that is compatible to xp?

AVG is a very poor anti-virus program and to recommend it
would indicate you haven't done your homework. The same
goes for Symantecs system works. Don't waste your money.
Norton Anti-Virus is one of the better ones. Panda is
another. For anything worth having you will have to pay.
If you want the best protection you can get then it will
cost a little. AVG is only certified on windows 95\98 and
2000 pro. No other platforms, regardless of what any ads
tell you. As for any firewall the one within XP is one of
the best there is on the market and I have yet to find a
test site that can crack it. Good luck

Funny I have been using AVG for 4 years and it has caught every virus thrown
at me. You call that poor?
