Some keys do not work after updating XP to XP SP1

Does anyone know why certain keys do not work on my
keyboard after installing the update Windows XP SP1?
Since installing the numbers five,six,zero and the
plus/equal keys do not work? I new at this, but did check
the keyboard device manager and it says the device is
working properly. I have no knowledge about drivers and
such, so any "detailed" instructions would be greatly
appreciated. My laptop is a Presario 27hundred - cant
type zero's.....Thanks!
