View Full Version : Essential Upgrades Not Doing (?) So

After yesterdays (I Thought succesful) d/load of
essential upgrade of 331953 (there's also a Q810243,
Media Television) I tried running "rpcrt.dll" to check
if "5.1.2600.1140" was indeed there but search still does
not find rpc... . On going to download history I discover
that both the above d/loads on automatic actually failed.
Computer apparently succesfully d/loaded the 331953 on
the 27 march, but I had to do a restore on the 30 march
back to 27 march,to the entry for 331953, does this mean
it's not really there and how can I force it to d/load ?
At the moment my d/load register is filling up with a
list of "fails" (I dont want the t.v. thing yet).
Any (more) help would be appreciated.

Make sure system files aren't being hidden in Explorer: Folder Options>
View. Mark off Show All Files and Folders. Uncheck box to Hide System
Protected Files. Now look for rpcrt4.dll. You may have several copies.
The one that is loaded into memory (the working copy) is the one in the
Windows\System32 folder
