When I turn on my PC, startup stops at the following error
message: Disk Read Error Occurred.
What does this mean. How can I remove this error so I can
then go thru the bootup sequence and arrive at my desktop?

This behavior can occur if the the computer's CMOS settings for the=20
hard disk are incorrect. For example, the disk may be set to Normal=20
in the CMOS, when it should be set to Autoselect or LBA.=20

Select the correct CMOS setting for the drive. For information about=20
setting your computer's CMOS settings, please refer to your computer's=20
documentation or manufacturer.=20

If the computer used to start normally and you haven't changed anything to
cause this, it could indicate a hard drive failure or a major error.
