My computer is trying to boot up. It shows the windows xp
logo and the it shows the gateway logo; then the screen
turns black everything shuts down and then it tries to
boot up again. Can anyone please tell me if I can fix
this?
Thanks in advance!!!!

Try booting the computer in Safe Mode. After the BIOS post and before XP
starts to load, press the F8 key. If you can boot to Safe Mode, then
reboot normally and see if it will work.
If not, boot into Safe Mode again, click Start, Run and enter MSCONFIG Go
to the Startup tab and uncheck the items there. Reboot normally. If the
machine boots ok, go back to MSCONFIG and enable items one at a time until
you find the culprit.
