I have a new PC which came with Win XP Home. My old PC
ran Office 97 under Windows ME. Can I install and run my
copy of Office 97 on my new PC under XP?

Hi Bob,
Office 97 does work on Windows XP, I would recommend you also install
Service Pack 2 for office 97

Mark,

I'm a little confused by your answer. If Office 97
doesn't work on Win XP, then why would I need to install
Service Pack 2 for Office 97?

Thanks.

I think perhaps you misread the answer? It says Office 97 "does work" on
Windows XP. The Office Service Packs usually have to be installed in
order: Service Pack 1 and then Service Pack 2.

Oops! I misread your answer Mark. Sorry about that! I'll
look into the Service Packs.

Thanks for the info.
