How do I set up ICS with a 3 computer (WinXP Pro, Win 2000Pro, Win98SE) home
network using a Dlink 604?

MS information in "help and support" says I have to assign my ICS server,
the WinXP computer, 192.168.0.1 when the router already has this IP address.
Obviously when I try to set it, it says that this address is taken. Can I
manually change the address on this router or is there a workaround?

Has anyone used pppshr19?
I have an internal USR 56K hardware modem.

The DI-604 router is designed to share a broadband (cable modem or
DSL) connection. It performs the same type of routing function, in
hardware, that ICS performs in software.

Since you're sharing a dial-up connection, you need to use the DI-604
as a network switch only, not as a router:

1. Connect to the router's web interface at http://192.168.0.1 .
2. Disable the router's DHCP server.
3. Change the router's LAN IP address so that it doesn't conflict with
ICS. Use a high address in the same subnet, like 192.168.0.254.
4. Connect all of the computers to the router's LAN ports.
5. Don't connect anything to the router's WAN port.
