I recently changed computers. I exported my Outlook Express files from my
Win98 onto CD. Now, I have the new WinXP and I can't import the old
messages. I got the address book to go, but nothing else.

Old 98 had a file that I could just drag these.dbx files into and I can't
find it in XP.. help...

Thanks,
Larisa

Hi,

Copy the files to the folder of your choice on the hard drive. Open =
Outlook Express. Click tools/options/maintenance/"store folder". Browse =
to the folder where you just copied the files and select it. You will be =
prompted to import them. Be aware this only fixes the default folders =
(inbox, sent, etc.). If you have folders you created, then you need to =
export certain registry keys from the old system as well.

Did you do an Export from within OE or did you copy the files to the CD?
If you did the latter, make sure that you copied the file called
Folders.dbx, otherwise OE on the new machine will not recognise it as a
message store.
