Dan,
If you were smart, (and I think you are) you would run,
not walk to the local computer store to buy firewall
software. Yes it's true that with some ISPs that your
computers IP address changes and most firewall software is
not cheap, but like "nutcase" says that doesn't mean
squat! Bits and pieces of your personal information is
saved on your computer, everytime you enter your social
security number, credit cards, driver license, etc, etc,
you increase the probability of making your life public to
a capable hacker, it doesn't take much bandwidth to
transfer small files, things like trojan horses, email
born viruses just increases the likelyhood of you being
the next victim. Good luck and (for your sake) I hope you
make the right decision...

what kind of problems were you having with your Firewall?

You should keep it on at all times to keep your computer secure. Otherwise,
you are trusting other people/computers for you security.
