Can't open attachment

I just got Windows XP last weekend. But ever since I started using it I
can't open my attachments in my e-mail. I'm using Outlook Express Version 6.

Can someone tell me what to do??

Try this: In OE click Tools > Options >Security. Uncheck "Do not allow
attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus". Click
Apply > OK.

ps: I assume you are running an updated antivirus program. Wouldn't want any
nasty surprises in those attachments.

All file extensions. There is a little picture of a paperclip you're
supposed to click on - I click on in and the name of the file is faded like
I'm not supposed to click it. And it happens for all file extensions
