I have 2 computers in my home, both running XP Pro ....
I am conneced to Roadrunner, via a DLINK 4 port hub.
Roadrunner is providing two seperate IP addresses for
the two computers, and whenever I check they both do
have their own IP's. I have Netbui installed on both
these machines, just for our inhouse file transfers ...
My wife had installed WinMX on her machine, I didnt care
and until recently it never afftected my machine.
However, lately, I have noticed (for the past couple weeks)
that now, whenever WinMX is opened on her machine, it
causes the internet connection of MY machine to slow to
a crawl. (hers stays as it normally does, but my machine which
normally clocks at 1800-1900kbps, jumps as low as 400kpbs .....
this is consistent, everytime she opens Winmx ....it doesnt
matter what she is downloading or uploading ... if winmx is
so much as open on her machine ....I grind to a halt.
She's been using winmx for a year ... and it never affected
my machine, until recently ...
Any Ideas?
