no sound

Just put in xp -- tried to put in soundblaster16 - no
joy took it out - Now no sound at all-
Trouble shoot says ok. everything No Problem
but no sound going crazy.
so installed Windows Media 9 for XP still nop spound and
it says
error OXC00D11BA Condition ID = 0x00000000
been trying for three days -- full time -
what to do? now I am lost.

Did you search for an XP compatible driver for your sound card?
