desktop screen blocked

hi, i'm having i problem viewing my desktop screen.
everytime i boot my computer(windows XP) this
message "the page cannot be displayed" shows up, its
blocking my windows screen and i can't see the whole
screen. i have to click the "show desktop" icon frm the
lower taskbar of the screen in order to navigate the
desktop.Help!

Right click the desktop icon, then properties, make sure the desktop is not
checked Hidden instead of Archive
