I am trying to network 2 pc's, one winXP and one win98se.
I have successfully installed networking cards, and
connected them using cross-over cable.
I have assigned both pc's the same workgroup and unique
names.
I ran the networking wizard on the 98 machine which
worked no problem, but when I run it on the XP machine I
get the following error:
Faulting application spoolsv.exe, version 5.1.2600.0,
faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.1217, fault
address 0x0002c32b
I've tried the wizard with static IP's for both machines
(192.168.0.1/2) and using dynamic IDs.
I've also tried changing from "Microsoft Family Logon"
to "Client for Microsoft Networks" on the 98 machine.
I have a lexmark X85 multi-function printer and a USB DSL
connection on the XP machine which I would like to share.
After many many attempts I can't find any solution and
neither computers can ping or see each other in the
workgroup.
Can someone please help, I've tried everything I can
think of with no success.

Thanks

Dan

Have you tried seeing if there is a newer driver for your printer?
