View Full Version : Automatic Password Change Problem

Hi. Everyone knows to turn the automatic change off if
you don't want to bother with it. I have a client that
had it on, and when the screen came up, evidently she
clicked "OK" to the random change, not knowing what it
was, and didn't write it down! Now I know all the *.pwl
deletion methods of the old days, but is there a fix for
Windows XP Pro? If anyone can help, I would appreciate
it...

Hi,

To fix it, you must logon as an administrator or with admin level
priviledges. Then start/run "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes),
go to the advanced tab and click the advanced button. Click on the users
folder, then right-click the user in question and select "set password".
While you are here, you might want to click on properties and set the
password to never expire.
