Print Directory

I am using Win XP Pro with 512mb RAM
Has anyone had any experience with creating the Print Directory in Win XP
using the procedure at:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;321379

There are a few things I would like to know:
1. Was there any problems using this procedure to set it up? I am always
hesitant about making registry changes.
2. Are there any print options that allow me to see the printout in the
form I want, such as everything aligned left instead of a Tree format?

Any info would be appreciated.
