I'm using XP Pro on a wireless networked desktop and laptop. I want to use
BRIEFCASE on the laptop to frequently synchronize various application data
files. To do this, do I not have to 'share' the files on both computers?
If so, isn't this a security problem with respect to thereby giving access
to other users of the two computers AND someone violating my firewall to the
web? How do I sync the files and maintain security?
Thanks,

If I understand your question correctly you have two worries: First, you
don't trust the "other users" of your computers. Second you don't trust your
firewall.

You should assume that anyone that has physical access to your computers has
full access to them. If you do not trust these people, then you have a
personal problem not a technical one.

If you do not trust your firewall then have someone check it out either by
eyeballing the configuration or using a probe tool from the outside to see
what it's letting in from the outside.
