If the update is causing a problem then use system
restore to restore your system back to before the update
was installed.
As for disabling auto update proceed as follows:
1/ Go to Control panel
2/ Click the Sytem Icon
3/ In the system properties window click the Automatic
Updates tab
4/ In the automatic update window uncheck the box at the
top next to the option 'Keep my computer up to date. With
this setting enabled windows updates maybe automatically
updated prior ot apllying other updates.'
This will stop any further automatic updates. If you want
to update your machine you will need to visit the Windows
Update Web Site.
Hope this helps
