Are you having a slow down in any other programs?
Microsoft recently released an update that has been
causing major slow downs for a lot of people and MS is
currently working on a fix. So check in the add/remove
programs for a hotfix 811493 and if you have it remove
it. If you want more info on this then do a search for
811493.
