Put your XP disk in the drive and boot with it. Then your
options are limitless to fix this. You can open run and
type in msconfig and hit enter. Then click the boot ini
tab and then the check all boot paths button. This will
check for a corrupt boot path and you can fix it here if
you want or need to. You can also go into the recovery
console from the disk and type in chkdsk /r and be sure to
put the space after chkdsk and before the /. This will
scan your system and repair anything that is wrong. You
can also reinstall XP from the disk but that means you
will delete all that you presently have. You can choose
the install and then when the option comes up choose
repair. If you need more detailed assistance just e:mail
me. A lot of this seems simple to those who know but an
almost impossible task if you don't know what you are
doing. My reply is brief as the details will take up a lot
of space. So, as I said, if you need more help e:mail me.
Good luck.
