I am running a home network, 2 XP Home connected via
ethernet hub, trying to run the Network setup wizard
results in failure as "Spooler SubSystem App encountered a
problem". If I configure the LAN manually file sharing and
printer sharing works fine. Then if I try and enable ICS
on the modem dialup connection on the x.x.0.1 computer, i
get the error message "cannot enable shared access, Error
1061 the service cannot accept control messages at this
time", after warning me that it will reconfigure the host
LAN connection as x.x.0.1 (which it already is!)
Doesn't matter if the x.x.0.2 computer is switched off,
same response. Modem works fine, host computer will
connect and surf without a problem, just refuses to share
the connection.
Anybody got any ideas what else to do?? Thanks.

When you get that error 1061, type the following command at a command prompt
and post the results

sc queryex sharedaccess
