Am I correct in saying that to install a program that is
to be available to ALL users I need to log in and install
that software using the Administrator Account?
If so please tell me how and where. Thanks

Hi,
No, not always. Many older programs are not "user aware" and will need to be
installed while logged into each account that wants to use it. Just install
the software in an account that has Admin level priviledges. If it doesn't
work in other accounts (throws and error message), this is a sign that it
will need to be installed while logged on as that user. Just install it to
the same program folder each time.

Rick,
How about installing the application (run as administrator), and then
through explorer, move shortcuts from %userprofile%\start
menu\programs\<application> to "allusersprofile"\start
menu\programs\<application>?
NTFS permissions shouldn't cause any problems, only registry entries in
HKEY_Current_user could.
Correct me if I'm wrong...

Hi Michael,
No, your right, but many of the older programs written for 9x systems cannot
handle the move and balk with missing HKCU entries, hence the problems.....
