Hi all,
I had a long pending problem with a home network. 2 XP
Home machines have been connected to a home network, with
Win98 and Macantoishs, all connected to a hub and in turn
a NAT device to the Internet, the NAT device also act as
DHCP server.
Problem was that Folders and Printers cannot be shared btw
the XPs. Firewall were disabled, NetBIOS over TCP/IP
enabled, only one protocol was binded to the file&print
service. Guest account also enabled. Same user name exists
on both machines, but problem persists.
Turned out the 2 XP has the same LAN adaptor 'physical
address' and so got the same IP address from teh DHCP
servre, I managed to fixed this pbm by overriding the
physical address in the adaptor driver.
Printing is now feasible, but file sharing is still a
problem. I can see the other machine but not get down to
the file folder.
Any points I missed?
thanks
