This may be a repeat from other posters, if so, I apologize.
Now using 98SE w/Office 97. Have XP sitting here - worthwhile installing?
Under XP, what are the limitations when using Office 97? Shortcomings?
Features not available under XP?
Thank You!
Wayne

Greetings --
A great many people have reported success using Office 97 on WinXP
Very few have reported problems, most of those quite minor.

Is it worthwhile to install XP? I'm glad I did. Daily OS crashes and
applications locking up are a thing of the past for me. XP is by far
the most stable OS I've used.
Office 97 should work without any major problems.

Thank You for your reply.
Someone told me that Office 97 works fine with the only exception being that
Spellchecker does not work.
Before I dump 98SE and install XP, any thoughts on this?
Wayne
BTW, once XP is installed, can I revert to 98SE is driven to so? I am not
in the mood or mold to buy Office XP.

Yes it's crap. Word 97 spell checker works.
I have 97/2000/XP word installed and they all work.
Further MS tends to test their own programs. The only MS programs that =
require compatability options is some older versions of works. And Win =
XP will change it's behaviour to suit. No office requires compatability.

Thanks David. Thought was Mr. Gates might want all XP users to migrate to
XPOffice for all functions. Paranoia on my part? I guess so.
