View Full Version : Changing Multiple File Extensions
MLS
December 5th 03, 12:13 AM
I have recovered lots of lost files, all of which are
shown as .CHK (recovered fragments). Many of these files
are photos, so I want to convert all of them to .JPG
files. However, I only seem able to do so one at a time.
If I highlight more than one, I can change the filename,
but the extension remains .CHK - can anyone help? Replies
to me by email please. Thanks. MLS

Hi,
Manual:
Open a Command Prompt window (Start/Run/CMD) and navigate to the folder the
CHK files are in.
At the command prompt type: REN *.CHK *.JPG (note the spacing).
Automated:
Rename Files and Folders En Masse (Line 140)
