FAVORITES on XP

Would someone please advise me how to put a "favorites" Icon on my desktop.
I'm new with XP and am unable to figure it out. Thanks!

It should already be there for you. If you click on START you should be
able to see Favorites....then click on it.

Or right click on Start - Properties - Customize - Advanced - check
Favorites Menu
