I have tried the patch Q329441 from the kb article
related to my problem. turns out that I have do not have
SP1 installed and I don't show a restore point for it.
It's possible I started restore points after I had
installed it, this would make it impossible to revert.
Anyway, I still have the problem of the dial-up being
unavailable (Remotoe Connection Manager Service is not
starting : access denied) and the patch didn't work. Any
suggestions.
Thx in advance
Steve

The patch Q329441 from windowsupdate won't fix an already broken system.
Delete the regkeys as specified in the KB.
