I've found this too in my pc (in autostart in msconfig)
I started the search like you w a post in a forum. I got
one good answer: put the string "renovate.exe" including
the quotes & this will give you at least one more answer:

& a little bit more to read about it. I'm not sure it's
the rigth renovate but...
I also found out that www.greenstreetsoftware.com is
involved. My kids has downloaded some smaller eGames
(bowling mania, Galaxy of Mahjongg & more) from that
company. If you do a check at their site & look at the
link "About" & click at the link there for: "Publishing
Partners" what name do you think you will find there? GST!
I can't figure out how the games are related to
renovate.exe but I think there is a connection.
Anyway I tried to just uncheck the autostart-mark for
Renovate.exe i msconfig (that should invoke selectiv start
next time, I think that is a little bit slow?) & it was
OK. So I deleted the key for renovate.exe in the Register
(after backup). Save me about 30 sec at start.
& no error so far & the games are still OK
