Immediately after startup I am receiving error message:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Tools\Delfolders.exe
Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Tools\Delfolders.exe' ......blah
blah.
I can still log in and work. I just installed Service Pack 1, but I don't
know if there's any link. I've tried searching the various MS Knowledge
Bases etc but to no avail.
Grateful if anyone could advise how to fix.

The file you mentioned is not part of Windows XP. You might be a
victim of an attempted Trojan Horse attack. Your antivirus software
may have deleted the file but the reference still exists in the
startup location. There are several places where programs can be
started. Please post the complete error message so someone can help
you get rid of it.

Hi Earl (and others)
The full message states:
Windows cannot find C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Tools\Delfolders.exe. Make sure you
typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click
the Start button, and then click Search.
Grateful for any help. Thanks in advance.

As I stated in my prior message, this is most likely the remnant of
an attempted virus or Trojan Horse. No program as dangerous as one
which will delete folders at startup could have legitimate purposes.
The program is being loaded either from the Startup Group, the
Registry or a line in Win.Ini or System.Ini. Many people are leery
of editing the Registry for good reason. There is no warning about
the potential for mistakes or a mechanism for undoing the changes.
If you would go to the link below and download RegCleaner , it would
make it easier to edit the Registry and undo errors in editing:
