You can try downloading Microsoft's Virtual Machine to see if that helps.

Val,

You do not need to send us an e-mail regarding this.
The current position regarding the action taken by Sun Microsystems that
prevents us from distributing the Microsoft Java VM, but allows us to
provide updates until Jan 2004 is explained at the following pages.
http://www.microsoft.com/java/
and
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/evaluation/news/jre.asp

If you have used another third party Java VM and are having problems with
web sites that may be expecting a Microsoft Java VM, there is nothing we can
currently do. The choice of Java VMs supported by a web site is not within
our control.

Why then do I see (MSFT) after the names of individuals
answering questions?

George,

I'm not sure what your question has to do with this discussion thread, but
to answer it.
The MSFT on my display name indicates that I am a full time employee of
Microsoft.
We are required to formally identify ourselves when posting in these peer to
peer support newsgroups.
We are also expected to use the disclaimer after our signature.

We are here on a voluntary basis doing what we can to help the peer to peer

You forgot the disclaimer. :)

Your presence here is much appreciated, Mike. I wish more "softies" would do
likewise.
