problem is on connecting through my CDMA mobile to the
internet. I get a msg saying "This shutdown was initiated
by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. Time before shutdown:00:00:59
windows must now restart because the remote procedure
call (RPC) service terminated unexpectedly. Failure in
the Remote Procedure Call" (RPC) forces the computer to
shut down within 1 minute and restar. There's no problem
with Windows 98. What could be the problem with XP?

You need to go to Windows Update and download the RPC patch that has been
available for several weeks now.
And then you need to update your Anti-Virus software and run a full system
scan. A worm (virus) known by several names (LoveSan, Blaster and
MSBlaster) has infected your computer.
You can also use the W32.Blaster.Worm Removal tool from Symantec (Norton
Anti-Virus)

I'm having the same problem as the other posts. A
question: obviously I can't stay on the internet long
enough to download the patch on my XP system. Do I
download it through my windows 98 onto a floppy and
attempt to load it into my XP computer? How would I go
about doing this? Thanks for your help on this issue.
Sincerely,
Michael
