XP Network problem after Patch

[Richard]

I have updated all our XP pro computers and windows 2000
to stop the worm problem... BUT now the XP computers
can't connect to the network. I have tried everything in
the Trouble shooters. DOes anyone have any ideas?

can you ping other computer's IP? if yes, can you ping by name? also you may
want to reply the SPx.

Yes, I can ping the IP address. When I Try to ping with a
computer name the Run Screen jsut flashes by very quickly?
What do you mean reply the SPx?

Opps I forget to add, I think it may be a security
setting. Ach computer tries to Connect to the XP's and
the Xp's try to connect to the Win 2000 's but.... There
is an error about "permissions"
