XP Hotfixes

hi,

a hotfix is a piece of software released by a manufacturer
that fixes an imporatant flaw in the program that you are
using. generally hotfixes are supposed to be installed
only if you are facing the issue (that the hotfix
addresses) and u can;t wait until a service pack or the
next version of the software comes along.

however some hotfixes are categorized as CRITICAL, which
means that it is imperitive that you install them on your
system, else u might have to live under the threat of
security breaches or system instability.

the hotfixes that u see in control panel are the critical
updates that Windows Update downloaded and installed
automatically (as per the settings on your computer). I do
not recommend that you remove them.
