I am having a problem communicating between 2 pcs using
WinXP and Linksys USB Wireless adapters. The adapters are
working with good signal strength. The network wizard on
the client pc worked fine and the system is aware there
is a wirless network to connect to. But on the server I
can't see the other pc, and under "View Available
Wireless Networks" there is nothing and all the buttons
are greyed out. The Network Setup wizard fails to
complete set up of the pc acting as a server and when I
run the Repair this Connection routine it comes up with
the following message
"The following steps of the repair operation failed.
Renewing the IP address.
Please contact your network administrator or ISP".
I connect to the internet via a DSL modem. I can't see
anything that suggests there is an IP address confluict,
and the wireless adapters have been set up using DHCP to
auto generate IP addresses.
Can anyone give me a clue what to try to resolve this?
Thanks
