Outlook 2002 SP2 click Send/Receive = Operation Failed

HD failed, reinstalled Office XP and all Micorsoft
updates and patches. Can generate new e-mail by clicking
NEW and send it by clicking SEND but when I click
SEND/RECEIVE to get mail I get The Operation Failed -
nothing in the event logs to give me a clue. Have
removed Office XP and reinstalled the whole thing, that
didn't fix the problem. Can anybody help me?

Go to tools >email accounts in Outlook. Test it there. There are a few
things you can change. Send yourself mail. Check closely for any commas,
spaces, settings. enter your name and password. Get anything out of the
outbox.
