Can't Turn Off Windows XP Home!

Hi,
I Can't Turn Off Windows XP Home!
When I go to Start>Turn Off Computer>Turn Off or Restart - Nothing happens.
If I push the On/Off switch - Nothing happens.
Any ideas?

Thanks Nicholas,
But neither site helped.
I did not upgrade to Windows XP, it's on a 7-month old machine.
Also, I tried Alt-Ctrl-Del > Shut Down > Restart and Turn Off,
but neither of them worked either.
Any other ideas ?; I'd appreciate them.
