Small peer-to-peer network, WinXP Pro based.

One WinXP pro station act as a gateway "server" with ICS, printer and file
storage for all other "clients". Network use user/admin rights scheme, but
this is not however a true master-client server as it is WinXP Pro.

I want to limit Internet usage and print number copies per period on one
WinXP Pro client only. One employee is out of control using the Internet
and the printer, although the usage is job-related.

The "client" can have unmonitored and unscheduled access to Internet and
printer, but we just need to limit the number of hours per month for
Internet, and the number of pages printed on the shared printer on that
client station only.

Is there a hidden feature or a low-cost utility that can do that ?

Thanks for suggestions

Thanks for the link. Very interesting indeed. I'll check that.

Meanwhile, I found and tested Watchdog and PaperCut that are quite good
also.

http://www.sarna.net/watchdog/

http://www.papercut.biz/pcstandard.htm

Watchdog not only monitor but can block access to any programs, based on
time limits or periods. It's afordable shareware.

Papercut enables a budget-oriented printing control, per user and period.
It's free for 5 Windows users and less.
