I have upgraded from XP-Home Ed. to XP-Professional. I
am wanting to create a DOMAIN. Steps from article,
Q308194 mentions "Active Directory Users and Computers"
in the path, START/PROGRAMS/Administrative Tools as the
way to perform this action. I can not find this option
under this path. For me to find Administrative Tools, I
have to follow the path, Control Panel/Performance and
Maintence/Administrative Tools. But once there, I do not
have the "Active Directory Users and Computers" option.
Any ideas???

To create a domain, you need to set up a domain controller
using either windows 2000 server, or windows server 2003.

Windows XP Pro can be a domain member, not a domain controller.

The options you discuss ( AD users and computers ) will be present on your
domain controller, once you set up the server and DCPROMO it to create the
domain.
