Hello,

It appears from your headers that you are using "Microsoft CDO for
Windows 2000" as a newsreader, are you really sure you are trying to
activate the firewall on Windows XP? If you are not sure what operating
system you are using, click on "Start", "Settings", "Control Panel",
"System" and look at the General tab for more informations about your OS
and your computer.

To make sure you are looking at the right place:
(stop me when you don't have the same windows/tabs)
- Click on Start, Settings then Network Connections
- Display the properties of your Internet connection (right click on an
item and click "Properties")
- A new window appears with five tabs, "General", "Options", "Security",
"Networking" and the fifth one should be Advanced where you can activate
the firewall by checking the first checkbox in the Internet Connection
Firewall area. Can you see that "Advanced" tab?
