View Full Version : Remote Access Connection Manager

I just upgraded from Windows XP home to Win XP Pro but I cannot set-up my
internet connection because the first two selections in the Internet
Connection window are greyed out. Only the third one (Connect using a
broadband connection that is always on) is selectable. I need to be able to
select "Connect using a broadband connection that requires a user name and
password"
I then went to Services in Admin Tools and found that Remote Access
Connection Manager was stopped. When I try to start it I get the following
message: Could not start the Remote Access Connection Manager service on
Local Computer. Error 5: Access is denied. I am logged on with
administrator rights. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Open Services.msc and check that RACM is set to manual, try starting
the service if possible. If it won`t start, look at its properties.
Make sure the Logon account is set to Local System Account.
