View Full Version : Setting up a print server using XP

I have set up a wireless network using a linksys router.
I have a printer hooked up to LPT1 and I tried to install
it using a new TCP IP port so the other computers can
share it. I gave the port an IP address but I cannot ping
it. Does the print server have to be actual hardware?

Kindest Regards

are you connecting the printer to lpt1 on xp? if yes, you don't have ip for
the printer. you just share it on xp and other computers should see it.
