I just moved from windows 2k pro to windows xp pro.
I guess its not earth shaking, but the stupid system tray pops up a message
every time I log in to tell me it's hiding icons,. Fine, I'm glad.........
I get it already......how many times does microsoft think I need to see this
pop up message? I have to click on the little x every single time to make it
go away. Is there a way to disable the pop up?
Thanks!

Right click on the task bar, select Properties. Clear 'Hide inactive icons'
option (at the bottom) and click ok. From now on, Taskbar will not hide any
system tray icons, nor will it show that popup message.

Thanks. However, I don't mind it hiding the icons, I just don't want it to
constantly tell me its hiding the icons. Doesn't microsoft think that after
20 or 30 times we know?
Is there no way to disable the pop up yet still hide the icons?

Download and install TweakUI for XP. In the Taskbar options, uncheck the box
to enable balloon popups.
