View Full Version : Networking with USB drive

I had a fully functional network set-up in my house. I
could access all drives on the desktop (2 harddrives and
a USB drive), and vice versa access from the deskop the
drive on my laptop.
I had a problem with XP on my desktop so I reinstalled
XP, and I cannot access the USB drive now. I did get it
to work for a day, when I reinstalled XP with the USB
drive plugged in, but now a couple of days later, it
isn't working anymore.
It gives me an error saying "not enough server memory
available"
Any ideas??

Did you reinstall Microsoft SP 1 for XP? It installs drivers for USB ver 2.0

The problem is probably that an antivirus program has changed an
obscure TCP/IP setting. Please see this Microsoft Knowledge Base
article for a likely solution, specifying a value of 15 for
IRPStackSize on the computer that connects directly to the USB drive:
