I want to make it so a cdrom on my home network is the
default cd drive for all computers connected to it. For
example, if i wanted to run encarta on multiple
computers, they would all access the same cdrom drive and
not come up with an error message such as "Insert the
correct cd". If anyone understands what i want, please
help.

Hi,
Have you tried to map a network drive to the CD Rom and
creating a shortcut on desktop to access it.

Yes and mapping the cdrom does let me access the files on the cd. Doing this
lets me install the programs (like encarta or games) but to run them i have
to put the cd into whichever computer I want to use which means i can only
ever run the program on one computer at a time.
