Monitoring LAN activity

My main PC, winME, has file sharing enabled. Another PC in an upper floor (win98se) is connected by TCP/IP (via linksys router).

Is there a utility that could be placed on the main PC, say on the taskbar, which would show when there is activity from the remote
PC?
