I have Windows XP Home with Sound Blaster Live (Creative
Labs). It works just fine except for the headset. When I
plug in my headphones nothing. I am told there is a
special setting in Windows XP to resolve this. I guess
changing it from Digital to Analog. How do I do this.
Thanks

This is done under Properties for the CD drive if you are trying to
listen to audio CDs.

The is suppose to be within the Windows XP program as it
affects the DVD and CD headset to work.

That is what I told you. Don't you have an instance of the CD drive
in your Device Manager? Double-click on it. You open the
Properties box. There is another Properties tab where you can
enable or disable digital audio for that drive. Why ask for help if
you do not want to follow it?

The first thing I note Earl is that you are obviously a
putz. The second thing I note is that you give minimal
instructions and expect everyone to understand what the
hell you are saying. Now as to the gentlemans problem
regarding the Headphones. My first question is-where
exactly are you trying to plug the head phones into. If
you are trying to use the jack on the front of the tower
then that's the wrong place when you have a sound card
like yours. Look on the back of the tower and find your
sound card-usually where you speakers plug into and then
look for a little headphone symbol and plug in there. Good
luck.

I do not consider anyone who can use a computer as a complete idiot
although I might have to change my assessment. Anyone who can get
as far as asking a question in a newsgroup should know where to plug
in the headphone. He identified his sound card so I presumed that
is where he was plugging in his headphones.

As for helping the original poster, I made two replies before you
even made one and I managed not to call him any names. You had
ample opportunity to call him something before I did. As for your
help to others, it is customary in newsgroups to use the Reply
button rather than the New Message button to respond to messages.
You managed to do that only on three occasions within this newsgroup
alone out of eighteen messages I found that you had posted. At
least the original poster knows that I am talking to him.
