View Full Version : How to create user profiles in XP like in Windows 98?

May 14th 03, 05:09 AM
Hi,
I'm new to using XP and have a question about user profiles.
In Windows 98, I created separate profiles for my fiancé and
myself in which neither of us could delete each other's files.
IOW, it was like we each had personal copies of the hard drive.
She could delete a folder in her profile, but it wouldn't effect
that folder in my profile. How do you do this in XP? Or can this
even be done?

Hi Julie

The same concept exists in Windows XP. When you installed=20
XP it asked you for a password and that is the=20
administrator's password. So login as administrator and=20
go to Control Panel and then click on user accounts and=20
then create users.

hi,

Click Start | Run | type "Control Userpasswords"
You can create new user accounts there.
